This past week I have been thinking a lot about my recent blog posts which are on the topic of judgment and the mind. Then on Sunday I was looking through my videos at home and came across an old video tape of a class taught by SSS Harbhajan Singh Khalsa (Yogi Bhajan) during Summer Solstice of 1987 (almost 21 years ago!). For some reason I was compelled to watch it. It had been sitting in the cupboard for so many years and for some reason today I noticed it and felt like watching it.
As soon as I started watching the video I was surprised to find that the lecture covering many of the very topics that I was just blogging about, in relation controlling your mind, religion, self discipline, intuition, love, and spirituality. As Guru Nanak Dev ji wrote: "Man Jeetai Jagjeet"; By conquering the mind you conquer the world!
To top it off I have been listening to the AWESOME audio track "Sarab Nirantar – by Hari Bhajan Kaur" which is a repetition of a few lines from Sopurkh, written by Guru Ram Das. The lines of Sopurkh talk about this "Oneness" in everything and God being everywhere. This single track is well worth the cost of the whole CD! I just put it on repeat and feel that oneness in everything as I sing along with it.
So as you can see, this past week has been a journey of the mind for me; finding this oneness in everything and working on my self discipline, so that I can see this oneness ever clearer!
So, I hope rather than just reading all this, you too will take a journey of your own and make a change in your life. Watch the below videos and do the meditations if you can. By working on yourself and developing your spiritual practice you create a "Well" of "light" that enables you to in turn give and share to others. If a glass has nothing in it, it can only give it’s self. But if the glass has water, then it can give itself with water.
Definitely Watch The Below Videos! Part one and two are about 40 minutes long each, so set aside some time when you can just listen un-disturbed, since there is a lot of information to take in. After watching it a few times it really sunk in for me. Enjoy!
Part 1 – Lecture
Part 2 – Meditation
Downoad: Video
The second video is a three part meditation portion of the class. During most of the meditations everyone chants together "Humee Hum Tumee Tum, Wahe Guru……" (I am thine in mine myself), which was chanted by Guru Gobind Singh (minus the English translation) before he gave us the Wahe Guru Mantra. This was another surpriser for me because I never knew this, and for me this Mantra has been something that I automatically chanted in my mind whenever I was scared, alone, or wanted to feel close to my Guru. I remember chanting it as I walked home from school when I was about 6 years old. I now sing it to my children as I get them to sleep. I guess after chanting it so much it has become automatic in my mind at times of need.
In the video after a while of starting the meditation it starts to rain. Then it rains harder and harder….and then near the end it turns to heavy hail and you can hear it grow louder as it hits the roof of the large open air shelter. I remember times when this happened during meditations and it was always quite an experience! There is something about meditating and chanting with a large group at Summer Solstice!
The video ends with Livtar Singh and Krishna Kaur singing one of the classic 3HO/Sikh Dharma songs and ends with a "Boleh So Nihal" shouted out by Bhai Sahib Bhai Jeevan Singh Jee who was at Summer Solstice that year.
Ps. As always, if you have an Ipod or MP3 player that plays video, you can automatically get this and other audio/videos by subscribing to the MrSikhNet Podcast (It’s free!).
please send audio for part-2 meditation man jeetae jag jeet of SSS Harbhajan Singh Khalsa (Yogi Bhajan)
Surender Kaur, I didn’t post the audio for the meditation part because you need to be able to see the instructions for how to do the meditation. If people still want me to post the audio I will do so.

I love the audio and videos of Yogi Bhajan – they are invaluable. If you have more videos or audios that would be great. Please upload them, as I have almost watched and listened to everything you have put up.

An idea strike in my mind that is it possible that the some lectures of SSS Harbhajan Singh Khalsa (Yogi Bhajan) could be translated in punjabi & then posted on sikhnet. Then the punjabi knowing sangat can also take benefit.
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Gurumustuk Singh Ji,

The link to part two is not working. Please provide the correct link. Thank you for the lectures.
It is a very good effort to broadbase our sikh religion.

I finally found time in my schedule to sit down and watch these 2 video clips as well as the ones about Guru Gobind Singh by the Cherdikala Jetha fellows.
Thx so much for posting them! I remember the days Siri Singh sahib sat with us at Solstice and polished our souls through those brilliant lectures and life changing meditations and the rains would always come!
It nourishes the soul to watch these videos. It’s much more worthwhile to view these than to watch TV or movies obviously! I’m hungry for more please!
Thanks also for giving a virtual sungat to those of us who do not live in active ashrams!
Sat Nam; Does anyone know the exact date of the video so it can be ordered?
Blessings and Peace
Sat Hari Singh New York City
I just got back from Winter Solstice where we sang this beautiful mantra a few times (I am thine in mine myself, wahe guru, humee hum tumee tum, wahe guru). Â I have been singing it to myself a lot since I’ve been back. Â I’ve searched online and I can’t seem to find where to buy this song. Â If you know, that would help. Â
Sat Nam,
SantoshÂ
sat nam,
i would also like to buy this mantra on cd. who sings this version?
i can’t find it anywhere either
“Conquer your mind, conquer the world” is essentially the secret of the law of attraction. And the Sikh reilgion explictly states this in scriptures. Sikhs who knew this secret like our great guru’s and great warriors were successful in their quests.
:)))
Wow! The chanting in the second video was breathtakingly beautiful!!
@ Gurmusutk: Can you please tell me from where i can get the audio of the chant "humi hum, too(n) too(n), Waheguru!". Also, it will be very kind of you if you could tell me where exactly Guru Gobind Singh ji has written this line1!
Waheguru!
