Baah Baah Black Sheep in Raag

I couldn’t help but share this with you all. I missed this on the SikhBlogPulse a while back last month but found it while browsing. I never would have imagined someone singing the nursery rhyme "Baa Baa Black Sheep" song in a raag style! Hahaha. Thanks Jagjit Singh’s (Malaysia’s), for sharing this video of Gurmukh Singh.

Ps. In case you don’t know this nursery rhyme, the "Baah Baah" part is the sound of the sheep talking (It is not "Baba" like Baba Deep Singh).

That was great. It actually sounded a lot better than the original. In fact, he should make an album.

I know his uncle. The family is a family of kirtaani musicians and granthis. In Malaysia. His uncle who knows everything about gurbani kirtaan teaches kirtaan to children as just one of his many occupations. He had to have inherited a love of fun and poetry from his uncle. Reaches out to the little one inside each of us.
