The Singhnia (Sikh Women) of Guru Gobind Singh

During the Jaap Sahib course here in Espanola, New Mexico Shanti Kaur Khalsa taught an inspiring class titled "The Singhnia of Guru Gobind Singh". This was a 1.5 hour class which might be a bit long for you to watch at a stretch so I have taken this class and edited it into different portions and topics. The following is a video of Shanti Kaur talking about the power of woman and the Sikh women from the time of Guru Gobind Singh.

always great to hear from shant kaur khalsa. Gurumustak why not post Five 20 min lectures by her, because editing really takes away the connection. It just like listening to presentation. Then there is no connection with that presenter.

And it may make your job little easier.

  2. During her class she tells three stories and we did two meditations. Someone people might watch a 1.5 hour video online… but most won’t…so I like to keep the videos short enough.

The videos of her telling the stories are much longer. The next video of her (from this class) will be about Mata Jito ji and Guru Gobind Singh.

I will never get tired of listening to their thoughts. I think it lot better than to watch TV and get out of it nothing. TV is a waste of time, except discovery channel and sometimes home repair channel (hgtv).

I rather invest my time with these great scholars who have spent enormous amount in researching the history of sikhi and way of sikhi.

    Thank you ji

    Gurumustuk Sahib,

It would be great if you have an audio mp3 file of the whole lecture. I love putting these on during commute time! And, as always, thank you for sharing and inspiring all! Your site for sure helps connect truly with Gurus and Sikh history.

sikh ladies should be referred to as kaurs and not singhni

even in the ardas they refer to sikh ladies as singhni and not as kaur
