Life as a Papa

Well, it’s been a while since I posted some pictures of my newborn daughter, Charanjeet Kaur, so I thought I would share a few more from the past week or so. It’s so great having this beautiful soul in our life. She is so sweet and has a meditative gaze that penetrates you. My favorite times are when she wakes up and I hold her in my arms and she just look around at the world. In the evenings when it is not so bright outside I take her for a mini walk to see the plants, hear the wind chimes and the water fountain.

Arjan is doing great. It is a night to night thing with sleep. Some nights Charanjeet sleeps for long stretches and other nights less frequent (which equals sleep or no sleep). Me? Well I am now semi permanently bunked in Narayan’s room on his top bunk of his bed. It’s been fun for us. We’re in the "boys room". After a week or so of trying to sleep and help Arjan in our bedroom (and then not being able to get much sleep or function during the day) we thought it best for me to sleep with Narayan.

Arjan’s mom is coming in a few days for a visit, and Kelly (Arjan’s Sister) is going to be heading home back to Colorado. It’s been such a great help having her and my mother around to help. I also really appreciate all the friends here in Espanola who have been sending food over for me, Narayan and Kelly. Arjan is eating special food so the rest of us have to figure out other food. Every day someone brings us some yummy food at lunch time. It’s such a great way to support your friends when they have a baby. It’s a lot to just take care of the basics at home, and unless you have family who can just cook and help out all the time then it can be hard.

Narayan loves taking pictures. If I don’t stop him he’ll take hundreds of random pictures, one centemeter away from a something or tilted all over. This below picture is one that Narayan took of me and Charanjeet in the morning before going off to work.

   wow must be amazing being a father! i cant wait when im older that is! just to have an empty cup and fill it with knowledge and with that knowledge we can become an empty cup again! kya baat! you must make a lovely father :)
