Wedding Gurbani Kirtan

Many of you had posted comments requesting the Gurbani Kirtan that was played during the Gurdwara when Sada Sat Simran Singh and Guru Das Kaur got married. This kirtan was played by Bibi Amarjit Kaur who has been friends of our family (and many of our sangat) for a long time. I think she currently lives in Virginia (USA). She played quite a few different shabads so I am not posting them right here. To listen to them go to the MrSikhNet audio player and then select the option "Traditional Gurbani" and then "Bibi Amarjit Kaur". You can then listen to them all individually or download them to your computer.

Wedding Jaikaras
One of the other tracks that I put in the "Traditional Gurbani" folder is of some Jaikaras (Boleh So Nihal) after they finished the wedding. The Jaikaras like this always make me teary eyed after the weddings. I have taken pictures at countless weddings here in Espanola, New Mexico and the Anand Karaj Ceremony always seems to make me emotional at the ending. I remember when I got married and the sangat did Jaikaras like this for me and I couldn’t keep tears from flowing. The Jaikara makes me feel like I am with Guru Gobind Singh and his fauj. I feel a deep connection when the Sangat shouts out loud the "Boleh So Nihal…".

   I am so thrilled to listen to Bibi Amarjit Kaur (who was my and my husband’s first kirtan teacher in Washington DC many years ago!) – there should be more CDs of her beautiful gurbani.

   Using the audio player, I’m not sure how to download the shabds. Could you elaborate? Thanks ji!

   Dear GMSK, i have tried downloading the files, but they all seem to stop at 1mb. Dont know if its a problem on my side (wouldnt think so), are there any restrictions on ur server or something like that. Anyways, thanks for sharing.

   Rajwinder Singh, they download fine for me and there is no restrictions on the server. You might try from another computer….or at another time. Or Try restarting your computer and then try again.

   Its seems that Rajwinder Singhs Ji’s concern is genuine concern becasue even I am not able to download it more than 3 mb. At my end, it stops at 3 mb. Its really strange to me as well.

   I have confirmed this issue and am looking into it. Thanks for the tip. It might now work for some people who have fast internet connection but it still could get cut off near the end.
