Here is Guru Nam Kaur who was one of my Aunties/Teachers back in school and now works with SikhNet (among other things). She is with her daughter Pritham Kaur who is an old friend and classmate of mine. We are the same age too. She is pregnant and due around the same time as Arjan.
Veerji,
If I am not mistaken.. Teacher’s Day had just passed by. Did You present something …a gift or a flower or a word of THANKS… to your teacher on that day. If not please do it, she will definitely be HAPPY with You. Memories….

I love that style of dastar. It’s tall and beautiful. Do you think you can put up a video showing how to tie that style of dastar?

I went to school at St. George’s College (also in Mussoorie). I was there from 1980 till 1984. When we would go up to town (St. George’s was in Barlowganj which was a few kilometers below Mussoorie downtown) on our town outing days (and we would get Rs. 25 per month) we would see what we then thought were Sikhs from outer space – clad in white, big long dastars, etc.!! When I look back it was kind of wierd the way we thought of you guys then.
I remember going to the Tibetian restaurant in front of Picture Palace I think…a lot of students of GNFC from America would also hang out there. Gurmustuk Singh – do you know which place I am talking about?
Carhdi Kala!
Inderpreet Singh: yeah… I remember those days on town leaves and Picture palace. :)
Its easy to tie that style turban. Have a lot of hair and wrap material around it. But I have met people who wrap alot of material. I use 3 1/2 – 7 yards to tie mine like this and only tie it like this.
