1 Year Anniversary of the Passing of Siri Singh Sahib (Yogi Bhajan)

A year ago (Oct 6th) around this time Siri Singh Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa passed away. I remember it like it was yesterday. The feelings, the mood, the tears. It was an emotional time for many who have been with him for over 35 years. I grew up with him like a grandfather (as many others did).

Looking back over this year I have seen quite a few changes happening. In the past many of us looked to him for leadership, advice, and direction. Now, many people have “stepped up to the plate” and taken on much larger roles of leadership and teaching. I see more and more people (including myself) taking more of a role in serving, teaching, sharing. For me personally it has been transformational. I used to be more passive and just let others do things. Now I feel the need to make the extra effort to serve in different ways.

So, today my post is to remember him and how he forever changed the face of my life and countless others. If you don’t know much about him you can read here

Here is a short prayer that Siri Singh Sahib ji would always say before he started to talk to the sangat.

May Waheguru bless his soul! I believe the day someone (who has done so much in their lives) meets their maker is a joyous occasion.

In our culture(jat) we actually celebrate (no, not with pangra or booze or anything but with sweets and smiles) our elders’ lives after their funerals.

so i hope no one is offended by my joke but rather brings a smile to you all.

In Israel (Iz-RA-EEL) a Rabi and a bus driver die on the same day. the bus driver goes to heaven and Rabi (to God) is like DUDE!!!! what about me???

Rabi, Says God, when you PREACHED everyone slept but when he DROVE everyone prayed!

again, if anyone is offended i’ll gladly take it off.

    Sat Nam!

When I remember him I really miss him. He was such a great man. What I learned from him is what brought me to the feet of the Guru. Nothing can compare to that. I will be eternally grateful.
WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa, WaheGuru Ji Ki Fateh!
