New Computer!

Today my new computer (parts) are coming in the mail…Yippeee!! (I’m “building” a computer). So when I get home I’m going to be putting together my new Screaming fast computer! Yeah. I’m excited. Now that I’m doing lots more stuff on my computer the old PIII 933Mhz just doesn’t cut it.

I hope I got all the things that I need, and that I don’t run into any problems. So…wish me luck.

PS. Thanks Dr. Soram for buying one of my oil paintings! I got the “OK” from Arjan to buy the computer after the sale :) If any of you are interested in Sikh Art and a beautiful Original Oil painting of the Golden Temple you can bid for one that I am auctioning on Ebay. Check it out here

congratulations! to make you feel even better :) i wanted to let you know that people in villages of punjab(my cousin…p4 3.2 gig 1 gig ram) have(almost had…) faster computers than yours! for a year! :))))

    thanks gurumustak!!!!!!

    okay…i’ll spell it out:
to be a techie and still be working with p3 in 05 is like…being a kid in the 70’s without a big wheel! (probly not a good analogy but you get the point hopefully) so thank you…it displays if nothing else…discipline.

stay away from tv tuners…if you do install a tv tuner do it before you move any app or data on your machine. and alway always stay away from ATI (all in wonder). i think i read your specs and you got Nvidia…much much better!

Best of Luck to You! and if you get stuck don’t hesitate to call…Guruka!:)

  2. Hahaha… well… I try to only buy things when I need them…and before I started blogging I didn’t REALLY need a new computer since I was mostly just using it for email and basic stuff. Now I’m doing all kinds of stuff and it is really slow…so I’m making the plunge. I don’t like to be wastefull or get things that I don’t really need.

I’m sure I’ll be up late putting the computer together. :)

  3. Isingh… do you have the blog on sometype of RSS news reader? You always seem to know right when I post something new. Just curious… How do you keep track of comments?

Hey I just bought a laptop yesterday!
It doesn’t nearly have the same specs as your new machine, but it is much better than the old laptop that I’m using now. It is an old IBM dual-booted with Windows 98 and Linux. I just use it to check my email and stuff. I really need something faster than dial-up though.
I’m the CFO in my household. I enforce a strict budget on the whole household, which is just me :-) Well it’s not too strict, but I imagine this winter’s heating costs will make it stricter. Good thing I got the laptop now.

well, for those of you thinking about buying something from gurumustak. having been his customer i must say that his customer service is unmatched! he was working even on his vacation in UK. which i appreciated. and no, my order wasn’t that big either.

  7. Isingh: that’s a great idea. I think I just might do that for our upcoming yearly fundraiser. :) (Video introducing the SikhNet staff)

I’ve set up a filter in my email to collect comment notification emails in a folder (not that I receive many comments).
