Following on from D.Singh’s post, I too noticed that the install freezes at 12% on a new laptop, with Vista, and with .NET 1.1, and later the 3.5 already installed. Just thought I’d share how I got around this problem:

Ensured the .NET 1.1 etc installed. Downloaded the sttm.exe into a folder and then ran the program when it froze at 12% (internet was on).

As I had downloaded the sttm.exe on another XP machine where it worked OK, and saved a copy on a USB drive, I had the USB drive at the time and as the install froze at 12% on the Vista machine, cancelled the not responding (checked via Task Manager to confirm), and copied the sttm.exe program from the USB drive onto the Vista machine into a folder. I then ran it from there by double clicking it as usual, and yes it went past the 12% and installed without a glitch. Went through the usual prompts until a desktop was created. Double clicked the desktop icon to start the new sttm and it prompted to install the patch (1.74MB) which I did and all worked OK.
At 1024×768 setting, sttm goes off screen after it loads. You can manually resize it from the edges using your mouse, or change the settings (via properties on your desktop) to 1152×864, then back again to 1024×768 and it auto fits the screen!. Long winded but whatever suits the user.

Yesterday, I was at the gurdwara and I noticed some problems with the backgroud drop and the text color, people were not able to read because the backgroud color is light purple with ek onkar and the text which was appearing was also light purple.

I hope they fix the problem, or just ask me for a new background.

Do we have any STTM version which works on windows mobile 6 ? I recently purchased blackjack II and the old version of STTM doesn’t work with it.

is it also possible to turn off the ‘random’ slide transition sequence and no have transition effect at all?

a few things I noticed:
- the punjabi translation didn’t work with 6/7 shabads during a deevan.
- when loading asaa di vaar, it takes a long time to load all of the slides. (I’m not sure if this can be fixed)
- It would be nice to go directly to the slide number in asaa di vaar.
other than that, great software!

A new update has been published and it is recommended that you download it. I have tested this on a Vista system and it worked fine without having to reset the permissions. If you have given all users full access to the directory (as per instructions) then there is not reason for the permissions to keep resetting.

i had downloaded the Sikhi2theMax software a number of days back onto the vista system and made the suggsted file permission changes and now several days later i repeated get the following message appearing when i attempt to open the software: ‘Sikhitothe max has newer files and components available (1.74 MB). Do you want to download them?’ If i click no, then another message: ‘Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will close immediately…..Could not open a connection. You do not have the relevent file permissions.’ it appears i have to keep making the necessary file permission changes each time i attempt to use the software, is there someting that i have missed or not done correctly ? WaheGuru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fathae.

Fateh jee - this has been acknowledged - thank you for pointing it out. This will be fixed this weeked and an autoupdate will fix the issue. You will need to be logged onto the internet and allow STTM access via the firewall. Will send an update shortly.

FAO: Sevatothemax and SikhiToTheMax
I don’t know if anyone has come across another recent problem picked by a sevadar whilst using the new release. On page 773 the search results bring the Laav shabad (’har pehilarree laav paravirathee karam dhrirraaeiaa bal raam jeeo’), starting with the first laav correctly. But when you click this, the display shows the third laav instead!?. Has anyone come across this? It now appears that the laav shabads have been ‘tagged’ incorrectly. The display does not match in the Akhand Paat nor PowerPoint displays. Further, the first page search starts with ‘hukamee outham neech hukam likh dhukh sukh paaeeahi’ and should start with Jap? Could you please look into this and respond. Thanks.

(Incidentally, the beta version shows the page 773 first laav matches correctly with the displayed shabad)
