Gurumustuk’s Gurbani MP3 Pick

Here are some more Shabads from the all night Rensubhai Kirtan from the 2003 Summer Solstice camp in Espanola, NM. The first and second two are by different Sikh women.

The first two tracks I remember very well (even though it was from 2 years ago). At the Summer Solstice camp I always seem to go through all kinds of personal and spiritual changes. It is a time which brings up the different issues in my life at the time. The environment really makes me think about my life and make changes. I always seem to have some emotional moments/releases during the camp where tears flow. It is normally during the early morning Sadhana meditations or during Shabads at Gurdwara. The love and beauty of some people playing Shabads just spark those feelings.

In any case…each MP3 track has it’s own unique style and quality. I hope you enjoy them.

Here is a picture of the MPA class of 2004. You can see my brother Dharam Singh in the top rear row smiling, with the Damala turban on.

In the light blue suit on the left-front is Dalip Kaur that sang the first two shabads.

When you get a chance, someday maybe you could blog some information on Espanola, the city itself. Information such as jobs, real estate, economy, temprature etc. I bet there are many sikh families living in the US (outside of new mexico) that would be interested in moving there because they would be comfortable living surrounded by so many people of their own religion.

    Just an idea.

Thanks for writing and posting interesting articles on your blog.

That’s a good point. Maybe Prabhu Singh can post some info on his blog. He is born and raised here and knows the in’s and out’s of Espanola.

    Veer Ji,

That is a really awesome inspirational picture especially for the youth like me. I’m at a point where I want to wear my “crown” and be a singhni..there isn’t that much sangat here where i could get directions on how to tie a dastar. Could you please post a video or directions on how to tie a dastar like the ones worn by the bhan jis? And also length of the dastar, material, etc. I would really appreicate it! Thank you!

I’ve been meaning to write about how good Dalip Kaur sounded on track 1 and 2 but I’m glad I waited cuz I can add to that praise by saying that your voice just put my baby girl(10 month) to sleep.

your voice is very soothing… i would’ve had to listen to her(my daughter) cry bloody murder for atleast 20 minutes cuz mommy aint home tonite.

so thank you and keep up the Good Work! (btw, has anyone seen Gurumustak?? I’m going through major withdrawls :)) whereever you are mr. Sikhnet i hope you’re having fun.)
